Rising above Toronto's skyline at a towering height of 553m, the CN Tower was the world's pre-eminent television tower until 2009. Acting as a beacon for Toronto, it offers unrivalled vistas of the cityscape and the verdant expanse of Lake Ontario. Thrill-seekers have the opportunity to embark on an adrenaline-fueled, rope-secured expedition to an astounding elevation of 356m.

Stretching up to 553 metres, the CN Tower is an iconic presence in Toronto's skyline, its construction completed between the years 1973 and 1976 – a massive feat considering the era. The tower's main purpose is telecommunications, serving as a relay point for over 30 television and radio channels. Between 1975 and 2007, it was the world's tallest freestanding and unaided structure, and up until 2009, worldwide, it was considered the tallest tower dedicated to television transmissions.

The 1st of October 1976 marked the official inauguration of the CN Tower, despite welcoming visitors since the 26th of June. On its opening day, an impressive 12,000 individuals came to admire the view. Presently, visitors can ascend to the elevated observation deck at 342m in an astonishingly quick 58 seconds, thanks to the lifts' speed of 22 km/h. The transparency of the lift's floor offers an unforgettable airborne experience that truly invigorates the senses.

The viewing platform of the CN Tower encapsulates a gripping experience with its glass-bottomed floor. For those undeterred by vertigo, the platform invites you to defy your primal fears and tiptoe into the perceived abyss. Once you've stepped into this illusion of free-fall, the sensation is utterly exceptional.

You may rest assured, those glass panes beneath you are over 6cm thick and can withstand a whopping 38 tonnes — their resilience was indeed tried and tested with real elephants! However, for those preferring solid ground beneath their feet, the platform's outer segment lacks the glass flooring but is safely caged.

If you prefer a less breezy experience, the CN Tower offers an indoor platform stationed at 346m with an appealing café. For gastronomy enthusiasts, a restaurant awaits you at the dizzying elevation of 360m that smoothly spins, providing 360-degree views of beautiful Toronto.

If you have a fearless disposition, the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada unveils a unique and breath-taking experience. Embark on the EdgeWalk, where you get harnessed to a climbing rope, allowing you to navigate the edge of a 1.5m wide square-cut, open-air path. What makes it doubly exhilarating is the sheer height - the path is situated 356m above the ground and there is no railing, making it the highest outdoor walkway offering freehand panoramic views in the world.

In 1976, the year when the CN Tower was inaugurated, an intriguing tradition was begun. A time capsule was carefully lodged into a wall beneath the first observation deck. This time capsule is a treasure trove of various artifacts, comprising a sealed letter from the prevailing Prime Minister of Canada, archival newspapers and even a recorded documentation depicting the construction of the CN Tower. The time capsule is scheduled for unveiling a century post its establishment, therefore, in the year 2076, the treasures it holds will be revealed.
